    Salary: £21,356.00 pro rata (11.10 per hour)

    Location: Kirkcaldy

    The Yard is an award-winning charity that runs adventure play services for disabled children, young people and their families in the east of Scotland. The charity is looking for a Playworker to join its team.

    If successful, you will join The Yard's team of passionate committed play workers, delivering child-led, family sessions at its Centre in Kirkcaldy. You will plan and deliver a range of play activities such as arts and crafts, loose parts play, den building, sensory and water play. You will be an integral part of the team, with the opportunity for training and development.

    The Yard is an accredited living wage employer and offer a wide range of benefits. The purpose of this post is to:

    • Play an active role in the set-up, delivery and development of recreational activities, in line with the organisation's values, aims and policies
    • Engage children in creative play and the management of suitable activities for the different ages and interests of children
    • Encourage and enable children and young people with a range of disabilities to play and socialise in an inclusive way that supports the development of their emotional wellbeing
    • To ensure the safety of the children and young people within the Centre at all times
    • Work with children and young people as individuals and as part of a group, within The Yard's premises.

    The successful candidate may have experience working in childcare, early years, nursery, play, youth work or the care sector.
