Carers Strategy - Engagement sessions
Created: 30/10/2022, Updated: 01/11/2022A carer is anyone, of any age, who provides or intends to provide care for another person on an unpaid basis.
Many people in Fife will care for a relative, friend or neighbour at some point in their life. Some research suggests that as many as 70% of us will take an unpaid caring role at some time.
Caring for another person can be a demanding and sometimes difficult. It can help to get professional support and share experiences and ideas with other people in the same situation.
The Fife Health abd Social Care Partnership is required to review how it supports carers every three years, and refresh its Carers Strategy to support adult and young carers in Fife.
The review includes an extensive engagement and consultation exercise. Its approach to this includes:
The Partnership’s Participation and Engagement Team will lead on coordination for the adult carers’ engagement and colleagues in Children and Families will lead the participation of young carers and young adult carers. Its third sector partners, including FVA, will support the engagement process for both sets of carers.
The engagement process will take place through late November/early December.
You can attend any of the workshops below to find out more:
Carers and other interested parties are asked register to attend a session by filling out this online form or contacting the Participation and Engagement Team by phoning 03451 555 555 ext. 444484, or by e-mailing [email protected]
Through the engagement period, interested parties will be asked to complete the online consultation questionnaire which is available here. The questionnaire will also be available in paper form on request.
Following a detailed analysis of the results from the engagement sessions, the Partnership prepare a single Carers Strategy that reflects the priorities of carers and how they will be supported.
The Partnership is aiming to complete the review process in early 2023 with a view to approving and publishing a refreshed strategy before the start of the 2023/24 financial period.
