    The Commonwealth Foundation supports civic voices to share their stories, learn and act together, and influence the institutions that shape people’s lives.

    Funders seek to support initiatives that encourage and make possible meaningful and constructive engagement between civil society and government around policy and decision-making relevant to three priority themes:

    1. Health
    2. Environment and climate change
    3. Freedom of expression

    All applications are required to demonstrate how they intend to integrate considerations of gender into their project design and implementation.

    Who can apply

    Applicants must be registered not-for-profit civil society organisations with an annual income of less than £2 million. The applicant must be based in an eligible Commonwealth Foundation member country, and the project should take place in an eligible Commonwealth Foundation member country.

    Apply online via the Foundation website.

    When to apply

    Applications close at 13:00 on 01 November 2022. Proposals must relate to projects that are expected to begin within the second half of 2023.
