    News/Events Category: Job Vacancies

Post: Income Maximisation Worker (Food Insecurity)

Salary: £24,796 pro-rata (Pay award pending)

    Hours: 21 hours per week

Contract: 30 September 2024 (with potential for extension)

Location: Craig Mitchell House, Flemington Road, Glenrothes, KY7 5QF (postholder will also work from Levenmouth Foodbank)

Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people. Its service continues to grow and expand, and we are now excited to be able to announce a further position attached to the food insecurity agenda to help the organisation achieve its vision of “A better life for the people of Fife”.

Food insecurity occurs where people no longer have reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable nutritious food. This post will partner with Levenmouth Foodbank, helping improve the financial circumstances of those using their emergency food services and providing a sustainable path out of food insecurity.

The successful applicant will deliver an income maximisation service to clients accessing the Levenmouth Foodbank service, providing personalised income maximisation advice and support. This service will include assessing welfare benefit entitlement, budgeting assistance, and information on banking services and affordable credit. The service will also actively refer both internally and externally where further issues are identified e.g. debt issues.

To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, a desire to improve the lives of vulnerable individuals, a can-do ethos and a willingness to take ownership and responsibility for the delivery of the project. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a commitment to CARF’s vision and values.

Please download the application pack from CARF's website or for an informal discussion contact Sarah Somerville on [email protected] or by phone 01592 765 408.

CARF is committed to Equal Opportunities and applications are welcome from all communities.

The closing date for applications is 12:00 on Tuesday 27 September with interviews on 04 October.
