Scottish Families Affected by Drugs and Alcohol have a big ambition: No more hidden families - hosting ten in-person events across Scotland telling a family member’s story of living with problematic alcohol and drug use.
This testimonial from a participant below describes the workshop:
"I just wanted to say how impressed we were with the Fierce Love workshop. It was so well thought through and organised. Our team from CAP commented on the difference it made to their understanding of issues affecting substance users and their families and the difference that new awareness will make in their practice going forward."
This Fierce Love will run from September to November this year featuring interactive workshops. Family member's stories are invited, discussing and reflecting on what has been heard as a group.
The aim is to raise awareness of families’ experiences and create opportunities for families to be seen and heard. Scottish Families Affected by Drugs and Alcohol believe that recognising, supporting, and including families is the change needed to see in Scotland to reduce alcohol and drug-related harm.
These events are free and open to all, including practitioners and family members and are hosted alongside partners, including Argyll and Bute ADP, Families in Trauma, North Lanarkshire ADP, Inverclyde ADP, amongst others.
