    Post: Support Worker

    Hours: 28 hours per week

    Salary: Living Wage

    Responsible to: Regional Manager (Line Manager)

    Contract: Funded until 31/03/2023

    Location: Dundee

    The Food Train seeks a Support Worker to join its team. You must be able to work from Monday to Friday and other hours flexibly as needed.

    This job role is subject to a successful PVG scheme record check and a driving licence is required.

    Duties:

    • Reception and telephone duties
    • Cash handling and banking duties
    • Photocopying, filing and mailing duties
    • Any other general office task
    • Assist in the collection of customer shopping lists
    • Assist in the stores making up grocery orders
    • Assist in the delivery of customer orders
    • Support, assist and advise local branch-based staff and volunteers

    Person Specification ~Essential:

    • a motivated and enthusiastic individual
    • excellent communication skills
    • basic office skills and experience of Microsoft applications
    • a real ‘people person’ with a ‘can-do’ approach
    • ability to work on own initiative and part of a team
    • some understanding of the voluntary sector
    •  motivation to work with older people in the community

    Person Specification ~ Desirable:

    • experience working in the voluntary sector and with volunteers
    • experience working in service delivery
    • experience of accounting software and systems
    • awareness of older people’s health and wellbeing issues
