    Post: Support Practitioner

    Hours: 25hour post (the organisation may consider an application who is looking for full time hours). Please note that this is shift work and may include weekend and public holiday work at times.

    Salary: £21,294 per annum

    Location: Anstruther and coastal areas

    The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is currently seeking a Support Practitioner to join its team. 

    Your responsibilities will depend on the needs of the individuals that you support and can include:

    • Social Support- Assisting individuals to engage with their communities by planning and attending outings to various clubs and leisure activities such as day centres, bowling, cinema, swimming etc.
    • Medical Support- Administering and monitoring medication.
    • Personal Care- Assist people to maintain their wellbeing by promoting their personal care which would include assistance with showering/bathing, dressing, arranging visits with professionals such as dentists, doctors or opticians, assisting with incontinence care.
    • Practical Support- Helping people to maintain their tenancy by encouraging daily household tasks such as general housework, laundry, ironing, cooking, shopping.

    Due to the nature of the organisation's services in this area, it can only accept applications from candidates who have a valid full driving license and access to their own vehicle. You will be paid for your travel time while on shift and there is also a 45p per mile fuel allowance.

    This post covers home care and housing support. Every individual is different and therefore needs and support required at each visit will vary. You will mostly be looking after elderly and adults with Mental Health. This vacancy is for day shifts only. 

    No previous experience in care is required as the organisation provides full in-house training to all new staff members, continuous in-house training to all staff, and will invest in you to achieve your SVQ Level 2, so please do apply even if this is a new career path for you.
