    Post: Family Support Worker 

    Location: Glenrothes

    Muirhead Outreach Project seeks to recruit a Family Support Worker. The role of the Support Workers is to provide support within its range of services for children and young people and their families. Work may be carried out in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis and can involve travel to other location such as schools. Sessional workers report to the Project Manager. The position requires working with a flexible and professional approach, including in the evenings. The position is subject to PVG check, references and successful completion of a probationary period.

    Main duties and responsibilities:

    • To support group work opportunities for children and young people;
    • To deliver one-to-one support to children, young people and families;
    • To action child protection procedures, as necessary;
    • To take on additional responsibilities to maximize good childcare practice in line with national standards;
    • To participate in liaison and co-working with external/referring agencies and contributing to childcare reviews, children's hearings and family meetings;
    • To implement and work within the policies & procedures of the Project, referring agency and/or the registering authority;
    • To contribute to the ongoing maintenance of case records, files and preparation of reports;
    • To ensure the health and safety of children and young people;
    • To attend and contribute to team meetings To participate in Muirhead's annual appraisal scheme;
    • To undertake appropriate training and professional development, as necessary;
    • To undertake any other reasonable duties as may be requested.
