The Promise Annual Report
Created: 28/04/2022COSLA has recently published the "Two Years On…Local Government’s Work to #KeepThePromise" report which highlights some of the work undertaken by councils, alongside their care experienced communities, so that our children grow up loved, safe and respected.
COSLA stated: "Our work is not done. We will keep listening to our children, young people, and their families and do all we can to improve their experiences of support, so that they can reach their full potentials and thrive. We all need support at some point in our lives, and we all deserve love, safety and respect. Today we celebrate the efforts of our workforce to deliver on this - and we also want to celebrate our care experienced children and young people.
The Promise called us all to action, and Local Government remains determined and proud to lead that charge."
The report highlights examples of coproduction work with the care experienced communities, ways in which families have been supported to stay together, nurturing love and overcoming difficulties, making houses homes, and youth work approaches. COSLA's website provides additional detail of the work being carried out by the Local Government, including the work going on in Fife.
Through ongoing efforts to share and learn from each other, councils can work together to #KeepThePromise and accelerate the ongoing process of radical change to the way we support and care for our communities.
