    Post: Coordinator (Permanent)

    Salary: £13,000 per annum paid monthly

    Hours: Part-time (20 hours per week). Availability to accept requests 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday.

    Location: Working based from your home

    Continuing Care North East Fife seeks to recruit a Coordinator to join its team.

    Job description:

    • To provide quality 1 to 1 support to people in need, some of whom may be vulnerable.
    • To recruit and organise volunteer drivers and befrienders.
    • To access appropriate befriender training where necessary.
    • To provide support to all recruited volunteers on a regular basis.

    Primary responsibilities:

    • To assess clients’ requests for transport and/or befriending and organise an appropriate volunteer to complete the task.
    • To maintain up-to-date records of activities and contacts in order to monitor and evaluate the service.
    • To check Volunteers travel claims and clients receipts against arranged transport
    • To ensure compliance with Data Protection legislation (2018 Act)
    • To ensure PVG compliance where necessary

    Internal reporting

    The Coordinator will submit a written report in person to the Board of Charity Trustees at their meetings, usually every two months.

    External Contacts:

    • Clients of the Charity
    • Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.
    • Fife Voluntary Action and other charities and social Groups.
    • Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Service.

    Person specification:

    • Ability to, and an interest in, engaging and relating to people with diverse needs to assist, signpost and/or support.
    • Ability to work on own initiative.
    • Be friendly and confident.

    Relevant Experience:

    • Ability to demonstrate appropriate knowledge and skills.
    • An understanding of Health & Social Care complexities.
    • A knowledge of Fife’s voluntary sector would be an advantage.

    Communications skills:

    • Ability to meet face to face, by phone, digitally with clients, understand their requests and resolve any issues.
    • Have a pleasant telephone manner.
    • Ability to engage with a variety of both statutory and voluntary agencies

    IT skills:

    • Basic use of MS windows, Office Package or iOS, Email, Word, Spreadsheets, phone and digital messaging.
    • Knowledge of posting information on the website would be an advantage.

    Additional attributes:

    • Confidence in handling clients firmly and sympathetically.
    • Patience.
    • Ability to work on own from home     

    Salary and benefits:
    Holidays: 20 days per year including bank holidays
    Pension: 3% employers’ contribution (dependent on the eligible hours worked, and if wished)
