    Child Bereavement UK and Our Minds Matter are running a free Bereavement Awareness session for community staff and volunteers to learn about the impact of grief and understand how to identify and provide for the needs of bereaved children and young people. 

    The session will take place from 10:30 - 12:00 on 20 June 2022.  It is for people who work in the Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes areas.

    Aims of the session: 

    • Awareness of the impact of grief and bereavement on health and wellbeing.
    • Look at the factors affecting the grieving process.

    • Explore grief in the family: theory to aid understanding.

    • Look at ways to respond and what to avoid. 

    • Understand children’s understanding and reactions at different developmental stages. 

    • Focus on the impact on you as the professional: maintaining your resilience. 

    • Signposting – sources of support and information.
