Kirkcaldy YMCA is recruiting a Co-ordinator to manage its intandem community mentoring service for vulnerable children and young people. The post holder will recruit, train and support a team of volunteer mentors to help improve outcomes for young people who are Looked After at Home. It will engage with other professionals in referrals, support and evaluation processes and will work with other service providers to provide diversion activities and community-based opportunities to the client group.
Post will be located in Kirkcaldy YMCA and will feed into evaluative and improving practice mechanisms as part of Inspiring Scotland's national intandem portfolio. Educated to a minimum of HNC level, (youth/community work/ social work/ education) with at least two years experience working with vulnerable children, young people and families. A good understanding of social work and youth work services in Scotland will be essential. The post will involve out of hours working and candidates must possess a full driving license.
