Victim Support Scotland (VSS) seeks to ensure that everyone affected by crime to receive high-quality support and have their voice heard.

The VSS National Reference Group is a group made up of people who have directly been affected by crime, who volunteer to share their feedback, views, and lived experiences on topics relating to policy and practice in Scotland. The group is interested to hear from you regardless of whether you have used VSS's services directly or not, or if your case has gone through the police or court system or not. Your views and experiences could make a real-life and lasting positive difference to Scotland’s justice system.

For example, the Reference Group might look at topics such as:

    1. What support should agencies give to victims, witnesses, and their families?
    2. What issues are important to victims and witnesses of crime in Scotland?
    3. What barriers exist within the criminal justice system for victims, witnesses and their families?

The Reference Group gives you different options for getting involved. You can be part of a group feedback session or give feedback one-to-one. You can also change your mind about getting involved any time. The first step is to get in touch to become part of sign-up to the group's mailing list to hear about different consultancies and opportunities for feedback coming up.
