Lunchtime Learning - An introduction to Community Wealth Building
Created: 22/12/2021, Updated: 18/01/2022FVA Lunchtime Learning sessions support the third sector in Fife.
FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local third sector providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.
This session will introduce third sector colleagues (staff and trustees) to Community Wealth Building (CWB).
CWB is growing rapidly on popularity across local authorities in the UK, and is promoted by Scottish Government: "Community wealth building (CWB) is a people-centred approach to local economic development, which redirects wealth back into the local economy, and places control and benefits into the hands of local people."
Fife Council and Fife Community Planning Partnership have agreed to implement CWB in Fife and have developed a plan to do so. Some of the activities are for Fife Council and other public sector bodies, but there are opportunities and challenges in there for the third sector.
This session is an opportunity to hear more about CWB, what it hopes to achieve in Fife, get a feel for some of the key benefits and likely timescales around implementation. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions of our guest speaker and our CEO, who sits on the CWB group for Fife.
