Salary: £10.02 per hour
Hours: 3 hours Saturday or Sunday, with extra hours possibly in school holidays/summer months. Weekends currently and can be flexible eg a week day evening in the lighter nights.
Location: Dunfermline
Contract Type: Permanent
Experience Required/Other: Previous experience of working with adults/children with additional support needs ideal but not essential and be non-smokers
PVG: Current PVG preferred (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
SDS Options Fife is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant (PA) on behalf of its client.
About the client:
Our 16-year-old son has autism and learning disabilities. He is a strapping lad who can be full of mischief. He currently engages with a PA to help him access multi-sports during the week. We are looking for someone to help him take part in cycling along the local cycle path (in the spring/summer at Lochore meadows too). I and my other son would accompany the PA, so I can attend to any care needs of our son. We are looking for a PA to keep up with him running or to walk beside him. He also loves walks, feeding the ducks, basketball, swimming. This post would be ideal for a local student who is studying P.E./ teaching/care and would be a great addition to their CV too with experience of working with someone my son’s age to help them access leisure activities.
Applicants must have a caring attitude, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Applicants should ideally have childcare experience with other special needs adults/children but not essential and be non-smokers. This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
