Kingdom Housing Association (KHA) provides housing and support throughout East Central Scotland. It has plans for a significant expansion of our housing stock over the next five years. KHA is looking to recruit a skilled labourer to join its team.

You will provide high-quality maintenance and repairs service for the Kingdom Group. This includes the provision of a skilled labourers service to one of our in-house maintenance teams covering: Routine Repairs, Emergency Repairs, Change of Tenancy Repairs, Small Works Team, Kitchen Renewal Team and other categories of repairs and minor works that will also be required in  properties and offices.

You should be an experienced skilled labourer with existing skills related to general builders work which may include some or all slabbing, brickwork, roughcasting, roofing and similar skills. Alternatively, you should have other suitable skills and a willingness to widen your skills base to cover general builders work. You will be required to participate in the out of hours emergency on-call rota for which an additional allowance will be paid. You must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach and enthusiasm for your work and should be able to work well on your own and as part of a team of multi-skilled operatives. A van, some tools and testing equipment will be provided. A current and valid driving licence is essential. You will be required to complete a satisfactory Standard Police Act Disclosure Scotland check.

You can apply online by visiting KHA's website. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, interviews are likely to be held by video call.

KHA will provide further information on this format to all those invited to interview. It is committed to contributing towards the eradication of homelessness. As part of that, KHA particularly welcomes applications from people who are currently registered homeless or have been in the last 12 months. It will guarantee shortlisting to any applicant who meets that criteria and the essential criteria for the vacancy. If you wish your application to be considered under the scheme, please state this under "Supporting information" on your application form.

The closing date is 14 November 2021.
