  • Real Living Wage must be paid by firms winning public sector contracts

    Created: 21/10/2021
    News/Events Category: General News

The Scottish Government has recently announced that, wherever relevant and proportionate, organisations bidding to win Scottish Government contracts will have to pay the real Living Wage in performance of the contract.

It will also be engaging more widely with the public sector to encourage other public bodies to also adopt this approach.

This allows public sector contracts to tackle in-work poverty and promote fair work practices across the public, private and third sector where there is a risk of low pay.

For more information on the real Living Wage, please see the What is the real Living Wage information sheet, the Scottish Government's Fair Work and Procurement webpage, or alternatively e-mail [email protected].
