  • Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) - Digi Information and Events Officer

    Created: 26/09/2021, Updated: 28/09/2021

Post: Digi Information and Events Officer

Hours: Full time, 36 hours per week

Salary: Real Living Wage (£9.98 per hour)

Location: Working mainly from home, but attending community sites and FASS office in Kirkcaldy as required.

Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) has been invited by The Rank Foundation, in partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund, to apply to its 'Time to Shine' Leadership Programme. This presents an opportunity for an individual with the right skills mix, talent and work ethic. A successful candidate will experience a 12- month paid leadership and development placement in FASS. The role will focus on digital and in-person events and systems, both internally and externally.

The successful candidate will educate and engage on the issues of substance misuse and help isolated adults participate in community activity.  The postholder will liaise closely with others engaged in digi media and client support across FASS's various services. It will suit someone who is self-motivated in learning and development and keen to develop FASS communications channels. The position is subject to successful interview by FASS and the funder. An appointed candidate will use their own initiative but will be fully supported through supervision and mentoring. Their personal development will require some travel and attendance at residential events and Action Learning sets throughout the year. They may also benefit from the experience of our previous Time to Shine Leader, now employed by FASS.

The successful candidate will have some community work, social media and online research experience. We are also interested in someone who shares the ethos of FASS's work, which fosters understanding, person-centred support. The role is suitable for someone looking to develop a career in digi media and the social sector and is open to candidates of any age and ability. FASS particularly welcomes applications from people with relevant lived experience. The post is subject to a PVG Disclosure. Some out-of-hours work and travel will be required. To express your interest, please send your CV to [email protected] by 12 noon, Thursday 30 October 2021. Interview date: November - date to be confirmed.
