  • Support group for families of someone convicted of a sexual offence

    Created: 07/09/2021

The Visitor Centre team at HMP Glenochil work closely with a number of families from the Fife area. Due to the population of HMP Glenochil, a percentage of its current visitors visit someone convicted of a sexual offence.

After speaking to families the team works closely with, and the lack of support available in the wider communities, it has set up a pilot support group in the Fife area for families of those convicted of a sexual offence.  The group will be held once a month in Cowdenbeath for families who are affected by a loved one convicted of a sexual offence. The group will restart on Thursday October 14th (final date TBC). The service will be on a referral basis and is available for any family members who wish to attend a safe space to meet with others in a similar situation.
