SENScot Session - Commissioning and Fair Work
Created: 30/08/2021The Scottish Government is currently consulting on the creation of a National Care Service (NCS)– this follows an Independent review of adult social care led by Derek Feeley, which recommended that the service should be established on an equal footing with NHS Scotland. The Scottish Government has presented the consultation as an opportunity to change the way support and services are delivered.
In support of this, SENScot is holding the following session as the second part of a series of two to provide SEN members with the opportunity to share their thoughts on several aspects of the National Care Service Consultation, with a view to submitting a response / developing a briefing on the social enterprise perspective.
This second session will consider another two key aspects of particular interest to social enterprise - ‘Commissioning’ and ‘Fair Work’ in the context of the National Care Service Consultation.
The first part of both sessions will include input from the Scottish Government team leading the consultation, with the opportunity to ask questions. This will be followed by a discussion amongst social enterprise without Scottish Government representatives.
The consultation runs until 18 October 2021 and details of Scottish Government’s own consultation sessions can be found here. You can access the Easy Read version of the consultation document here.
SENScot would also welcome views on this consultation from SEN members, please contact Mary Sinclair to discuss.
