Salvesen Mindroom Centre is delighted to launch two new training courses on neurodiversity.

In this 'It Takes All Kinds of Minds: Supporting Neurodivergent Children and Young People' virtual workshop, you will raise your understanding of, and improve support for, neurodivergent children and young people who may experience learning difficulties.

Using 5 short films made in collaboration with children, young people, their families, and carer, you will explore how you can begin to take a more holistic, strengths-based approach to supporting young people with ADHD, Autism, Tourette’s Syndrome, Dyslexia and Development Co-ordination Disorder (Dyspraxia).

During this interactive training, you will expand your knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity and will be encouraged to reflect on how your practice can promote inclusion and acceptance.

The training will be delivered by Aileen Shrimpton, a qualified and highly experienced trainer with lived experience of neurodivergence.

At the end of the course, participants will have an improved understanding of:

    • Common neurodevelopmental conditions
    • The strengths and challenges associated with common neurodevelopmental conditions
    • Ways to support neurodivergent children and young people.

    Who should attend?

This introductory course is suitable for those with little knowledge of neurodivergent conditions.

The course will take place from 10:00 - 14:00 on Wednesday 15 September 2021. Book a place here.
