New Befriending Fund now open for applications
Created: 09/08/2021A new Befriending Fund has now opened for applications. This Fund has been allocated to Befriending Networks through the first round of the Scottish Government's Tackling Social Isolation and Loneliness Fund.
It aims to sustain, increase or expand support for befriending projects/services during the initial recovery period of October 2021 - March 2022. It could be used to sustain or increase befriending coordinator's working hours, cover volunteer expenses, provide activities/groups where this is safe to do so, and/or digital devices/support that enable matches to go ahead at a distance where this is preferred.

To apply for this Fund. please visit Befriending Network's website. The application process is open until 12:00 on 26 August 2021. Completed application forms should be e-mailed to [email protected].
When to apply?
Befriending Network expects that the Fund will be oversubscribed and estimate that, depending upon the funding requests, it will be able to fund between 10 - 20 organisations. All applications will be assessed to ensure the criteria is met and successful applications will be selected to ensure a balance of different locations across Scotland, including rural and urban and across different groups identified above.
