Volunteering in social enterprise post-lockdown
Created: 02/08/2021Volunteers are a vital and valued resource in many social enterprises - but what has changed since lockdown?
During the first lockdown in Scotland overall volunteer participation increased by 26%, with almost three-quarters of Scottish adults (74%) giving time to volunteer. Befriending or keeping in touch with someone who is at risk of being lonely (68%) and doing food shopping (57%) were the most common volunteer activities undertaken.
Post COVID-19 all types of volunteering (formal, informal and mutual) are predicted to increase from pre-pandemic levels. However, a high proportion of third sector organisations are concerned about mental health, social isolation and loneliness post-pandemic.
How can volunteers help during the recovery? Join Social Enterprise Scotland at this webinar to discuss the role of volunteers in your social enterprise, best practices, and how volunteering has changed post-COVID-19.
At this webinar, participants will be joined by Debbie Maltman of Volunteer Scotland and Jonny Kinross, CEO, Grassmarket Community Project.
This event will take place from 11:30 - 12:15 on Wednesday 04 August 2021. Book a place here.
