News/Events Category: General NewsEnable Works is currently running Stage 2 and 3 courses and are open for referrals for its courses starting in August.
Participants will gain employability skills and an SQA personal development qualification. The course runs two days per week and Enable Works will arrange 1:1 support for those who need more support or specific advice. It's a great opportunity for people facing barriers and/or difficulties in accessing mainstream education or employment or for those young people who needs help in the transition between school and further training or work.
Over 12 weeks Enable Works will support learners to:
- Create CVs.
- Practice mock interviews.
- Gain an understanding of the world of work.
- Learn about personal presentation.
- Learn how to communicate effectively.
- Achieve a PDA level 3 or 4 qualifications.
During the course, participants will also be supported to look for employment opportunities within different sectors available in the current job market. If lockdown restrictions allow, from July, Enable Works will introduce workplace visits to employers. These will be done in accordance with government guidelines. Also, there is an opportunity for younger participants to earn £55 per week training allowance.
