    Salary: £17,500 - £19,000

    Hours: 37.5 hours per week

    Contract: Fixed term contract until April 2023.

    Circles Network is looking for Advocates on a fixed-term contract in Fife.

Its work is organised into four key segments: Circles Equine, Circles Community, Circles Advocacy, and Circles Academy. The organisation is made up of dedicated and passionate individuals who are committed to delivering high-quality support and who include the value of inclusion at the heart of everything they do.

    About the Role:

    The aim of an Advocate (Carer) is to provide Individual Independent Professional Advocacy that:

    • Supports carers to understand the importance of Power of Attorney and seek access legal support.
    • Proactively supports unpaid carers to be prepared and avoid any future need for a Guardianship Order.
    • Enables carers to navigate the process should a Guardianship order is required.
    • Sign-posts unpaid carers to relevant local and national services and supports.
    • Encourages people to have a stronger voice, by supporting them to express their own needs and make their own decisions.
    • Aids carers access to information, explore and understand their options and to make their views and wishes known.
    • Connects carers across Fife together, offering information and support in relation to the benefits and importance of taking control of their caring situation

    Qualifications and Skills required:

    At least one year's experience of working with or alongside unpaid carers. Experience in and/or working knowledge of utilising person-centred approaches. An understanding of carer's rights and legislation. A good standard of education and training, preferably at degree level or equivalent.

    Desirable Criteria Knowledge and Understanding:

    An understanding of carers issues. Lived experience of an unpaid caring role. Due to the nature of the work Circles Network engages in, applications from individuals with a full UK driving license are desirable.
