Creative Scotland's Performing Arts Venue Relief Fund
Created: 22/06/2021Creative Scotland's Performing Arts Venue Relief Fund will support the immediate and critical financial needs of venues that programme theatre and/or dance and/or music, and to help them remain solvent during the period of closure to the public and to mitigate the ongoing impact of the pandemic.
The fund also makes provision to commission or employ freelance artists and creative practitioners in the immediate term to ensure continued engagement with audiences. This funding is to bridge an evidenced financial gap until re-opening is viable and income projections are more sustainable.
This fund is being launched at the same time as the second round of the Culture Organisations and Venues Recovery Fund, which is for organisations that derive their income from providing cultural activity to the public and organisations that play a critical role in enabling that activity. Some venues will be potentially eligible to apply to either of these funds – but applicants can only apply to one of the funds, not both.
Who can apply?
Previous recipients of funding from the Performing Arts Venues Relief Fund awarded in Summer 2020 can apply for further support. Any new applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can also apply.
