Scottish Government - survey on Volunteering and the Third Sector Response to COVID-19

News/Events Category: General NewsThe Scottish Government is running a survey to establish the impact of COVID-19 on the voluntary sector and volunteering.
This survey aims to gather information about:
- how volunteering has contributed to the third sector response to the pandemic;
- the challenges that the sector has faced in continuing to support volunteering during this time; and - crucially -
- organisational perspectives on what is needed to support volunteering during the recovery period and beyond.
The insights that the survey brings will inform Scotland’s volunteering policy as we all tackle the challenges of recovery from the pandemic. It will provide essential evidence to the development of Scotland’s new Volunteering Action Plan, the next stage in the implementation of Volunteering for All - Scotland's national outcomes framework for volunteering. And it is an opportunity to reflect on the experiences of supporting volunteering during the past year, and what can be learned from this.
This research will also inform a UK-wide research study on mobilising voluntary action during the pandemic, for which the Scottish inputs are being coordinated by Volunteer Scotland.
The Government invites insights from:
- ‘Infrastructure’ or intermediary organisations such as local authorities, TSIs, Health Social Care Partnership HSCPs and others that work with multiple third sector organisations across an area or sector. You are invited to complete the questionnaire route for intermediary organisations.
- Third sector and other organisations that work directly with volunteers. You are invited to complete the questionnaire route for ‘volunteer-involving organisations’.
