News/Events Category: Funding and FinanceThe Trust promotes the education and training of young people across voluntary youth organisations at a local level. Activities funded include: climbing, mountain biking, quad biking, skiing, sailing, kayaking and trips to various places of interest as well as weekends at Scout and Guide Centres. Support for overseas trips, expeditions and activities is also provided.
The total amount of Grant available to each applicant is entirely at the discretion of the Trustees but would rarely exceed £1,200. Typically, a grant could range from £10 to £50 per head. Annual total from 2019 accounts. Grants ranged from £50 to £3,500.
Who can apply?
You will be a Scout Group, a section of a Scout Group or the equivalent in a voluntary organisation that directly seeks to improve the welfare of young people through the provision of training and/or education.
You may be a local group or part of a National Organisation but not a Scout District, Scout Region or equivalent in other similar organisations. Or you will be an individual member of such an organisation wishing to take part in an activity that will develop you and as a result of which you gain new skills that you will then use for the benefit of young people within your organisation.
2021 Application forms are now available but they ask that you only apply when you know your activity can take place. Application and guidance notes available via the Allander Trust website.
