Inspiring a Fairer Fife - What will it take for Fife Communities to raise and respect the rights of a child?
Created: 17/02/2021, Updated: 18/02/2021All are welcome to take part in the second of a series of sessions designed to inspire, challenge and support all who are trying to create a Fairer Fife with a particular emphasis on community action and engagement.
This second session will be an opportunity to hear from Cathy McCulloch, Co-Director of the Children’s Parliament, supported by Graham Leicester, Director of the International Futures Forum.
There is an old saying that it takes a village to raise a child. In April 2021, the UN Convention on Rights of the Child will be adopted into Scots Law. The Children’s Parliament have designated it as the “Year of Childhood”.
In this session, their co-director Cathy McCulloch will lead off with a provocation to explore childhood through the lens of children’s human rights – and ask what it will take to make these rights a reality in Fife’s communities in order to create a future in which all our children can thrive?
The session will also include a Q & A, small breakout groups and opportunities for participants to share stories, insights and ideas for action. It will take place via Zoom.
