  • Children in Need - Main Grants programme

    Created: 30/11/2020
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

Children in Need's Main and Small Grants programmes are for not-for-profit organisations applying for grants of up to three years. Both programmes will fund organisations who work with children and young people aged 18 years and under experiencing disadvantage through:

    • Illness, distress, abuse or neglect.
    • Any kind of disability.
    • Behavioural or psychological difficulties.
    • Living in poverty or situations of deprivation.

Funded organisations should make differences in children’s lives that help prevent or overcome the effects of the disadvantages they face. This can be achieved by either working directly with children or seeking to improve their social and physical environments.

Key information on Main Grants programme:

    • Grants may be up to 3 years in length
    • Organisations can apply for £10,001 or more, per year
    • We are highly unlikely to award more than £40k per annum for one or two year funding
    • We are highly unlikely to award above £100k in total for 3 year applications
    • Your organisation must have been active for at least three years. If your organisation is newer than this, please consider our Small Grants Programme.
    • Organisations may only apply for a Main Grants or a Small grant in this round, not both.

For more information on this fund, please read the application guidance document. To apply for the fund, visit Children in Need's website

*Children in Need's Scotland team is running a webinar to provide key information, timelines, and details of the next steps in the funding process as well as answer any questions organisations may have at this stage. The session will take place via Zoom at 10:00 on Friday 04 December 2020. lf anyone would like to attend, please ask them to confirm by e-mail to [email protected] as soon as possible.
