Fire safety in the home - online self-assessment checker
Created: 18/10/2020, Updated: 19/10/2020A new online Home Fire Safety Visit (HFSV) checker has been launched by the Scottish Fire Rescue Service (SFRS) to support people to stay safe at home.
The online HFSV self-assessment survey asks a series of simple questions and then automatically generates a home fire safety report for them. This online self-assessment ensures that homeowners receive bespoke advice and triages those most at risk of having a fire within their home for a physical HFSV.
This interactive tool and approach is the first positive step towards the SFRS Safe & Well programme that will be launched next year. It is seen as a way of reducing the demand on the visits SFRS conducts by providing lower risk occupiers with advice; thus negating the requirement to undertake a physical visit unless the occupier is high risk.
