  • Ethnic Minority National Resilience Network (EMNRN) Counselling and Be-friending service

    Created: 19/06/2020
    News/Events Category: General News

In response to the current challenges and impact of COVID-19, BEMIS - alongside its Ethnic Minority National Resilience Network (EMNRN) - launched a pilot multicultural counselling provision to enable Scotland's Ethnic and Cultural minority communities to support each other and the charities members throughout this time.

The Multicultural Counselling Support Project focuses on supporting mental health needs for ethnic minorities by providing multilingual culturally- and religiously-sensitive counselling support to enhance their resilience and abilities to support themselves and their families. The service also focuses on supporting relevant stakeholders such as Police, NHS, social care, and community organisations.

BEMIS has announced that it is able to sustain this service with support from the Scottish Government's Wellbeing Fund until the end of July 2020.
