  • Kirkcaldy launches pilot project to help businesses after lockdown

    Created: 12/05/2020
    News/Events Category: General News

Kirkcaldy businesses are the first in Scotland to trade online using the shopping platform ShopAppy. The site gives shoppers a way to shop local during lockdown and beyond to help support the local economy and to encourage people to buy from local independent businesses.

This is a pilot project, supported financially by Fife Council and ShopAppy Kirkcaldy, and is currently only open to Kirkcaldy businesses - who are being given the chance to participate free of charge in the scheme for six months. Afterwards, businesses can still participate in the scheme for the equivalent of just £5 a week. This initiative is currently being delivered by the newly formed Love Oor Lang Toun community group, and is supported by Greener Kirkcaldy and Fife Council.

Local businesses who want to take part should e-mail [email protected]
