An introductory training course for new Volunteer Befrienders with seescape to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to carry out their role effectively.
Learn what the role of a befriender is and isn't;
Look at attitudes and values in befriending;
Give a brief overview of seescape services and sight loss;
'Befriending in practice' - tools to enable you to carry out your role including practices, policies and ongoing support;
Follow up training Sighted Guide training also essential to undertaking the role.
