The purpose of this dialogue and deliberation training is to provide training in the communication practices and facilitation skills necessary to achieve a shift in local democracy.

Capacity building: To train participants in the practice of dialogue and deliberation (D+D), and to strengthen facilitation skills (‘macro’ strategic work + ‘micro’ facilitating of conversations).

Relevance: To link this to your context in community empowerment (CE) and community planning (CP), AND to the challenge of nurturing new forms of local democracy.

By the End of the session participants will:

    • Have a clear understanding of “Dialogue and Deliberation” and how it applies to good community engagement work.
    • Have a clear understanding how good Dialogue and Deliberation connects with Community Planning and Community Empowerment.
    • Be able to cascade learning to colleagues and work teams

This event is being organised by Fife Voluntary Action in partnership with Fife’s Community Planning Partnership

    Who is it for?

Anyone who, as part of their work remit has a regular role in working with community groups or has to engage with communities on a regular basis. There will be an expectation that those who attend will be prepared to cascade training to others including colleagues and Community Planning Partners.
