The Forum is open to all staff and trustees with constituted third sector organisations operating in the Fife area in the field of health and social care (i.e. it's not just for organisations that focus entirely on mental health).

    Background

Mental health is an increasing focus for service providers, policy-makers, funders, the media and citizens.  Adverse mental health affects most people during their lifetime and it can have a major impact on people, families and communities.

Fife Voluntary Action's refreshed third sector Mental Health Forum, held every quarter, supports the development of mental health in Fife and contributes to Fife Health and Social Care Partnership's new Mental Health Strategy (see pre-consultation draft here

The inaugural meeting of the refreshed mental health forum was held in September 2019. Discussions were held around the big picture of mental health in Fife and the importance of Peer to Peer work.  Feedback was collected from those present around the topics of what the third sector needs to take the next steps (Simplifying, Growing peer to peer support and joining up) and how FVA and other partners could support this activity.
