    Welfare Reform 2019

This short course will help staff from NHS, Health & Social Care and partner organisations in the voluntary sector understand the changes that have been made to the welfare system and how they affect people in Fife.  This module was produced as part of Fife's commitment under the Fairer Fife commission to ensure staff were fully equipped to understand the issues of those facing poverty and to feel confident when giving advice and referring to specialist agencies.

    Objectives:

    • to have an understanding of the recent and future changes to the benefits system
    • to recognise how these changes impact on individuals and families
    • to assist individuals and families to access support and assistance
    • to be able to identify when to refer to specialist advice and support agencies
