  • To Absent Friends (festival) grants scheme

    Created: 16/07/2019
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

A small grants fund has been set up to support organisations to participate in this year's To Absent Friends festival of storytelling and remembrance which runs 01-07 November 2019.

The grants are for small organisations to undertake activities within their community that provide public opportunities for storytelling and/or remembrance of people who have died.

The range of ways in which organisations can participate is wide and varied. In previous years, events at the festival have included concerts, poetry nights, craft activities, memory sharing events, storytelling suppers, exhibitions and much more.

The To Absent Friends website gives ideas of how organisations can get involved, but the festival also encourage creative and innovative ideas that are appropriate to local groups and communities.

Grants are available for up to £250.

The deadline for receipt of completed applications is Friday 23 August 2019. (The festival will aim to inform applicants of whether or not they have been successful by the end of August.)

A short grant application form and guidance notes for applicants are provided on their website.
