Learn which plants are best to grow for pollinating insects like bees, hoverflies and butterflies, and how to combine them with other plants to avoid using pesticides in your garden. This workshop will help you maximise your vegetable harvest in the garden by learning which plants help increase growth, reduce pests and attract pollinators. Companion planting is a method used to deter pests and improve productivity by planting certain vegetables or flowers together. It is an organic way to protect your crops from pests without having to resort to pesticides, and it can help improve pollination of fruit and vegetable crops. A lack of flowering plants, especially those packed with pollen and nectar is one of the biggest problems for our bees, hoverflies, butterflies and other pollinators. By making some changes in your own garden you can play an important role in reversing their decline.

They will look at which different plant varieties you should use, and how you can adapt these to your garden. You will be indoors for part of the workshop and outdoors exploring the garden space. The workshop is suitable for beginners and those who would like to learn a bit more. No equipment is needed, please dress according to the weather and wear shoes suitable for being outdoors. There is disabled parking on site and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
