Fife Festival of Music - May 2019 event
Created: 15/05/2019Fife Festival of Music is into its stride with its three events in a year structure. The May event is now well established as one for younger instrumental musicians to play and make music together in a non-competitive atmosphere. Previous years' events have included instrumental workshops for wind, brass, strings and percussion, jazz and traditional workshops as well as the Fife Festival Orchestra.
Sunday 19 May 2019 brings the return of a Traditional Music Experience for young musicians playing violin, viola or cello. This will introduce and encourage young players to learn about Scottish fiddle tunes through playing, singing, dancing and listening. The day will be led by Ian Adamson, Paul Wickham and Davy Lees. The target is P7 to S3 players.
The event is organised by FFoM in partnership with Fife Council Instrumental Service, Fife Youth Music Activities Charitable Trust and Auchmuty High School. Fife Festival shop will be open.
The event is free of charge to all participants, all costs being met by generous donations to FFoM for such work. Applications are required ahead of the event and Entry Forms are now available - from schools, Instrumental Instructors, Libraries etc. Also available on the Festival website and further information can be obtained from [email protected].
