Greener Kirkcaldy - Roots and Fruits
Created: 19/04/2019In this hands-on workshop you will discover the world of autumn harvests including burdock, brambles and rose hips. You will go for a leisurely walk to identify and mindfully gather edible and medicinal plants from nature's larder. Learn how to dig roots and dry them for later use and how to harvest hips and berries. From their foraged plants, you will make a herbal remedy to take home. They'll inspire you to try foraging and gain confidence in drying and preserving the hedgerow harvest. The tutor for the class will be Simone Melanie from Solar Ripe. There will be a mix of theory and practical hands-on activities, including walking around the garden. No experience necessary. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and walking footwear. There is disabled parking on site and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
