    Costs
    This event is free to attend but to encourage attendance and try and ensure a good turnout to benefit all delegates, we will charge a non-attendance fee of £25.00 per delegate. By submitting a booking for this event you agree to pay this fee for those delegates who have places booked but do not attend.

    Cancellations can be received up to 5 working days ahead of the event, thus avoiding non-attendance fees. A cancellation will only be valid if we have confirmed it with you. You can send somebody else in place of a booked delegate without incurring a non-attendance fee.

    Course Content

    This is a comprehensive session which covers the main elements of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (2007) Scheme, with particular attention to volunteers. 

    The aim of this course is to build on your knowledge of the PVG legislation, to inform of recent updates, and to raise awareness of how to complete the necessary paperwork correctly. This session is designed for those involved as either a signatory or in the recruitment of staff/volunteers.

    Included in the course: 

    1. Duty of care and the law
    2. Your rights and responsibilities
    3. PVG Scheme administration
    4. Defining regulated work
    5. Paperwork do’s and don’ts
    6. Storage of information and certificates
    7. The duty to refer

    Additional Information:
    If you have a larger staff team (over six) that require to know about this then this can be delivered in-house.


    Who should attend:
    Anyone who has supervisory responsibility for volunteers that may qualify for PVG scheme membership.


    Accreditation Award:
    All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
