It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.
We asked people who attended these sessions earlier in the year, what they liked most about our training - here are some of their comments:
"Informal and relaxed"
"Enjoyed the complete session, in particular the sharing of other candidates experiences around the subject"
"Trainer was very open, friendly and knowledgeable"
"Good to meet other people and increase my knowledge"
"Informal, chance to share thoughts/ideas, the trainer made herself available should anyone need to discuss something they have a question/concern about".
"Good interaction with others, small training session so lots of time for questions/discussions"
"The pace was really good, not too fast or too slow."
Despite the constant interest in new and better techniques to recruit volunteers, the true challenge in the volunteer field is first having meaningful activities for volunteers to do. Without preparation you run the risk of attracting people who do not really meet your needs and therefore are the wrong volunteers for you; and having the wrong volunteers may be worse than having no volunteers at all.
Included in the course:
• Motivations for volunteering;
• Developing opportunities;
• Methods of recruitment;
• Recruitment messages;
• Recruitment strategies.
Who should attend
Anyone who has, or is expecting to have, responsibility for recruiting/managing volunteers in their organisation.
In order to offer places to as many organisations as possible, we are only able to offer two places on each date to members of the same organisation. If your organisation would like to send more than 2 people, please get in touch with us to discuss options.
We ask that you give us a minimum of 5 working days notice of cancellation. If you do not attend and either do not cancel or give less than 5 working days notice, then your organisation will be charged £25.00.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance. Notes from the session will be forwarded to all participants who complete a post-training evaluation form that will be e-mailed to you.
