OpportunityAbout this opportunity: Roots & Resilience (SCIO) are seeking to appoint trustees to deliver the charity's mission of connecting people to nature in empowering and healing ways for the benefit of themselves, their community and the environment. They have worked with six primary schools supporting vulnerable children to develop confidence, resilience, emotional literacy and communication skills. They piloted a parental bereavement support service, and peer support network. They made a significant positive impact in their first year and can do much more with the right support.
They are seeking committed trustees who share their values of Equity, Sustainability, Compassion, Environment and Making a Difference. As the SCIO is developing, they are most interested in people who are enthusiastic and willing to learn, with a passion and commitment to bringing nature and therapeutic practice to those who have experienced trauma and challenging life circumstances.Takes place: mornings afternoons evenings Mondays Tuesdays 
Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays Saturdays Sundays Training provided: The Chair of trustees will work with the other trustees and Co-Chief Executives to become familiar with the organisation. Roots & Resilience are committed to the development of the board and organisation and will look to provide personal development opportunities where possible. Experience required: -strategic leadership and developing an organisation; charity governance and working with a Board of Trustees; chairing meetings and events; building and developing teams; and funding, fundraising and third-sector development. - warmth, humour, inter-personal and relationship building abilities, effective listening and engaging skills, networking capabilities, collaborative teamworking abilities, and commitment Restrictions on who can volunteer
