Collydean Community Centre is seeking new board menbers to be co-opted to the board for the 2018-19 period and beyond. The Centre is a local meeting point for residents of North Glenrothes and hosts exercise classes, uniformed groups such as Scouts and Guides, a community cafe, pre-school classes and senior groups. The Centre is in the process of signing a long-term lease from Fife Council and will be applying for large grants in order to remodel the building. Board members are required with either experience of large grant applications or cafe management experience to help move the Centre forward.
The volunteer will go through our comprehensive volunteer induction process, along with support from other board members and ongoing training as required. Previous training offered has been 'Board as employers', Dementia Friendly training and Food Hygiene.

Director, Trustee, Board/Committee member or Governor?!
Organisations have different names for the volunteers who are responsible for the running of the organisation - some are called Board members, some are Committee members, some may use the word Director for example. Broadly speaking, they mean the same thing - the people at the top who are ultimately responsible! These are important roles (for which training and support is available) and without volunteers at board level voluntary sector organisations could not exist.
