Crossroads Fife
Created/last updated: 08/02/2023Aims and objectives | Crossroads Fife provides a high quality service in the community to enable Carers to take time off when needed. To deliver this service we employ experienced, skilled and trained support workers. Crossroads Fife is an independently run charity which offers a service to Carers who are caring for someone of any age with any disability or illness. The objective of the service is to relieve stress on those persons or family members caring for people with a physical, mental or sensory impairment. Dependent on their individual need we provide the care in the service user's home or take the service user out as a required, throughout Fife on a day and at a time which suits them. This service enables Carers to take a break from their caring duties, to access appointments, attend social, leisure or educational activities and in some cases employment. It enables the Carer to meet their own health needs by attending medical appointments. It improves health and wellbeing and quality of life by reducing levels of stress and anxiety, knowing the cared for person is safe, being supported by a trained support worker. It may also assist the cared for person to live at home as long as possible avoiding early admission to long term care. It maintains social inclusion and independence. |
