    Aims and objectivesBrooke is an international charity that protects and improves the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules, which give people in the developing world the opportunity to work their way out of poverty. There are over 100 million working equines in the world, supporting the livelihoods of 600m people. It''s estimated that more than half suffer from exhaustion, dehydration and malnutrition as a result of excessive workloads and limited animal health services. Brooke believes this is preventable, so works with owners, communities, governments and international organisations to make lasting improvements to animal welfare.
